Kenpo for Kids
Kenpo Karate for Kids starts Tuesday (Free Class Launch) - April 19th
Time: 6 pm - 7 pm
Kenpo Karate is an eclectic martial arts that has circular movements (from Chinese Kung Fu) and linear movements (from Japanese Karate). Kenpo Karate also has many ju jitsu applications. The art can be traced back hundreds of years to the Shaolin Temple. The art has traveled from China, Japan, Okinawa, Hawaii, to America. The American Kenpo Karate founder is Edmund Parker (Hawaiian) who learned from William K.S. Chow (Chinese). Mr. Parker modernized the system to fit to the American body.
Mr. Jonathan Rhodes joins The Living Well family of facilitators. He studied Kenpo Karate for the last 12 years were he received his training from 10th degree black belt Joe Palanzo, at Joe Palonzo's Kenpo Karate. Mr. Palonzo learned Kenpo Karate directly from founder Edmund Parker who was credited with opening the first commercial karate school in the United States. Mr. Rhodes has tought Kenpo Karate at Joe Palonzo's Kenpo Karate as well as at the Greenmount School.
